Saturday 8
1. It is believed that the only true sport is something that can be
scientifically measured, not judged. For example, a runners time compared to a
gymnasts routine. Remember last time the French judges cut a deal with the
Russians to make sure the Canadians didn't win over the Russians so that later
the French would win the Dancing. So, do you think the Olympic events should be
restricted to only events that can be measured instead of judged? yes
2. Each event has a set of rules, but some are impossible to enforce. In one of
the swimming relays the gold winner used a dolphin kicking method too close to
the wall. He should have been disqualified. However, that could only be caught
using slow motion cameras, like in the NFL replays. Do you think the Olympics
should be using slow motion replays to monitor or judge the athletes? yes
3. Recently NBC scrambled to redo their coverage lineup because the Iraq Soccer
team demonstrated how, through unity, Iraqis could accomplish their dreams. Now
NBC is covering their matches. Networks determine which events to show. Do you
think all the events should be covered or just ones the network chooses? Maybe a
form of viewer input? all
4. It seams nowadays that anything can become an Olympic sport. Sailing,
ping-pong, curling (that weird Canadian ice thing, lol), basketball, etc. Do you
think that only certain sports should be considered Olympic or does anything go?
anything goes
5. Ratings have steadily gone down over the years as fewer Americans watch the
Olympics. Results are available before we even watch it. So, do you even watch
the Olympics? Do you only watch events your country might medal in? Should they
eliminate the huge blocks of network time set aside for the events and just
report the results like the news? no
6. Olympians are regular people too. Have you ever met, or do you know anyone
that has competed in the Olympics? Maybe even only tried out? no
7. There are so many events, Summer and Winter. Is there an event you always be
sure to watch or follow the results? no
8. Cities build these huge complexes to accommodate the Olympics and increase
their chance of wining a bid to host. The Greeks have spent over 10,000 per
resident to build their hosting complexes and it looks like they will be
severely hurting financially after it's all said and done. Do you think it's
wise for the bidding cities and countries to spend the millions of dollars they
do just to host the event? no
Bonus: Where should the next Olympics be held? not sure

2. What do you collect? lots of things
3. Do you carry a purse, backpack or briefcase on a regular basis? If yes, does

4. When is the last time you've read a book, put together a puzzle, built
something or did something crafty? too long ago
