Saturday 8

1. my new (used) car is taking some time to get ready. i just got a call from
the people who are fixing it, asking for $1,500 more. i don't know where i am
going to get that money. what is the most you've ever owed someone - not just a
bill? never so far



2. i was diagnosed with cervical cancer this week. my health insurance has a
$25K cancer rider on it. if that applies to my type of cancer, i'm paying off
bills and travelling this december to europe. if someone handed you $25K, what
would you do with it? not sure hopefully save most of it.



3. my idiot jerk husband, who moved out and devestated me this past january, now
wants to come back for a THIRD 'second chance' (we've separated 3x in our 7-yr.
marriage). right now, the only reason i am considering taking him back is for
financial reasons. have you dated someone, stayed with someone, or taken someone
back because it was easier on you financially? no



4. last week at work, my payroll lady discovered that i'd been erroneously
reporting my hours, shorting myself $1,200 over the past three months. "it's
like christmas in july," she said. have you ever messed up your salary/timesheet
in your favour? if not, have you ever messed up your timesheet in your company's
favour? no no but others yes in their favor.



5. my clones are going back to school next week, and it was time for school
supplies yesterday. i got BOTH of the clones' supplies for just $38. i was
shocked. if you have children, how much do you normally spend on school
supplies? if you don't have clones, how much do you spend on yourself to get
ready for school each year? n/a



6. a friend of mine, kathi, is VERY into herself and her outward appearance. she
gets haircuts that cost $150, spa days twice per month at over $300/pop, and i
don't want to even THINK about the clothing allowance she allocates for herself
each month. she has no education and works as a waitress, and is a single mother
of two daughters. she has two older boyfriends that she 'uses' for money, and a
boytoy who is over 15 years younger than she is. personally, i don't think this
is a great message to send to her daughters about not going to college, putting
such high value on looks that will fade, and using men. do i just mind my own
business, or do i attempt to be a better role model to her daughters when i see
them? better role model



7. i have student loans, which i'm going to have to use to pay off some of my
car. I've signed a statement that i would not use the monies to pay for anything
except tuition and books. i have known girls who spent all of their student
loans on clothes and travel. have you or someone you know spent their school
loan money on other things besides school? no



8. my close friend spent over $20K on adopting a baby from china. she's still
paying off her credit cards and always says, "oh, my GOD - i have no idea what
i'm doing!!!" it's fun to watch her and her husband and the baby. she wants to
do it again, but doesn't know how she's going to fund the second adoption. is
the idea of being a parent worth spending $20K/kid to you? maybe
